cultural.

Resumen en Inglés:

This paper propose a metacritical approach to the “modernist” Latin American
chronicle criticism. Therefore, we start from the reconstruction of the theoretical
and critical developments regarding the chronicle during the period from the
1940s to the 1980s. We maintain the hypothesis that the unexpected survival and
the actual significance of the chronicle as a genre is due to this successive critical
re‐readings. Adittionally, we maintain that the scope of this criticism about the
chronicle produced a theoretical space for the Latin American criticism in which it
was created a discourse of the Latin American specificity as a affirmation of
cultural difference.
